2025 YYCMA Winners
September 29, 2025 - Calgary, AB - An unmissable tribute to Calgary’s incredible music community, the YYC Music Awards lit up the Grey Eagle with an electrifying evening of live performances, celebrity presenters, and unforgettable moments. Hosted by the charismatic duo Lisette Xavier and James Demers, the show marked its 10th anniversary in style. This red carpet celebration broke records, with 29 awards handed out, making it the biggest year yet for Calgary’s favourite music awards show. From emerging talent to established stars, the night was a powerful showcase of the passion and diversity that defines Calgary’s music scene.
Presented by Craig Senyk Initiatives, the YYC Music Awards Gala recognizes the best of Calgary’s music industry, honouring Calgary and area musicians and industry leaders, including the new category of Live Performer of the Year. The evening showcased award presenters from the music community, and beyond, including Mayor Jyoti Gondek, X92.9’s Logan Middleton, former YYC Music Award winner Matt Blais and JUNO Awards Rap Music Advisory Committee Chair Arlo Maverick.
Award highlights include the announcement of the Hit Makers Hall of Fame which welcomed Al Muirhead, MCC Recording Studio, and The Royal Foundry as its inaugural inductees. The YYC Music Awards also recognized 14 first time winners, including The Wilder Bunch, the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo’s team of talented performers, Calgary’s favourite dream angel Robert Adam, and Calgary indie ensemble Thomas Thomas, among others.
The evening also included live performances from Sunflower Dreams, Jade Elephant, Kathleen Morrison & Carlos Foggin, with members of Calgary’s orchestras, Ashley Ghostkeeper, Robert Grosse and KayL, Angela Wrigley, Ollee Owens, and Madhuban Performing Arts. The celebration capped off with a performance by Nightshade for the official afterparty.
The YYC Music Awards Board of Directors would like to congratulate the 2025 winners and nominees and gratefully acknowledge all of the sponsors that make this event possible, especially Title Sponsor, Craig Senyk Initiatives, the voting committee, our guest presenters, volunteers and all of those that have cheered the YYC Music Awards.
